Burnley reportedly bid £11.8m for Deportivo La Coruna forward Florin Andone after being frustrated in their pursuit of Leeds United's Chris Wood.

Burnley have reportedly made an £11.8m offer for Deportivo La Coruna forward Florin Andone.

The Clarets, who opened their new Premier League season with a 3-2 win over Chelsea at the weekend, are in the market for a new striker after losing Andre Gray to Watford.

Leeds United's Chris Wood has been strongly linked with a move to Turf Moor, but the Championship club are said to be confident of keeping hold of the New Zealand international this summer.

According to Sky Sports News, after having two bids rejected for Wood, Burnley have launched an £11.8m bid for Andone, who scored 12 La Liga goals for Deportivo during the 2016-17 campaign.

Andone, who has also previously represented Villarreal and Cordoba, has represented Romania on 15 occasions.
