Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Burnley could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with Newcastle United.

Burnley will still be without Ashley Barnes when they host Newcastle United on Sunday, with the striker absent due to a thigh injury.

Winger Robbie Brady (Achilles) and defender Kevin Long (calf) are also unavailable for selection after picking up injuries on international duty with the Republic of Ireland.

Left-back Erik Pieters could continue his run in the starting lineup after recovering from a knock in time to face the Magpies at Turf Moor.

The Dutchman was replaced in the first half of Burnley's 3-2 defeat at Southampton last weekend but has been able to shake off the knock to his upper leg and is in contention to play ahead of Charlie Taylor.

Right-back Phil Bardsley will also be back in the Burnley squad to face Newcastle after a family bereavement forced him to miss the last nine league games.

Striker Chris Wood, who has scored in each of his last three Premier League appearances, is set to lead the line once again alongside Matej Vydra, who scored his second top-flight goal of the season against the Saints last weekend.

Burnley possible starting XI: Pope; Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Pieters; Gudmundsson, Brownhill, Westwood, McNeil; Vydra, Wood
