Kevin Bond named Harry Redknapp's assistant manager at Birmingham City

Birmingham City announce that Kevin Bond has joined the club as Harry Redknapp's assistant manager.

Birmingham City have announced that Kevin Bond has joined the club as Harry Redknapp's assistant manager.

The 59-year-old is familiar with the Blues boss having worked alongside him at Portsmouth, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers.

Bond, whose last job was at Hong Kong Pegasus, has signed a one-year contract at St Andrew's and his arrival has completed Redknapp's backroom team for the new season.

Paul Groves will work as the club's first-team coach, Kevin Hitchcock as goalkeeper coach and Lee Carsley as head of the Under-23s and development squad.

Birmingham finished 19th in the Championship last season.
