Andy Murray has overcome his recent injury struggles in time to take part in Wimbledon, as he attempts to defend the title he won for a second time last year.

Defending Wimbledon champion Andy Murray has revealed that he "will be fine" to play a full part in the competition following his recent struggles with a hip injury.

The top seed was unable to play in two warm-up events ahead of Wimbledon and sparked further fears of withdrawing after limping out of a practice session on Friday.

Murray has been back on the practice courts this weekend, however, as he attempts to return to fitness ahead of Monday's opening match at SW19 against Alexander Bublik.

Further dismissing fears of being unable to take part, Murray told reporters on Sunday afternoon: "I'll be fine to play the event and play seven matches."

It was also revealed on Sunday morning that Murray and wife Kim Sears are expecting their second child together.
