World number one Andy Murray says that he was happy with his performance in the win over Alexander Bublik in the Wimbledon first round.

Andy Murray has said that he felt "pretty good" during his victory over Alexander Bublik in the Wimbledon first round.

The world number one and defending champion has struggled with a sore hip in the build-up to the tournament at SW19, but he had little issue in beating his Kazakh opponent by a 6-1 6-4 6-2 scoreline.

Murray was competing in just his second grass-court match of the season, but he revealed that he was happy after coming through the contest with minimal fuss.

The 30-year-old told BBC Sport: "I feel pretty good, the last few days I had been feeling better each day.

"Getting out on the match court is different, the intensity is higher and the adrenaline helps numb some pain. I moved well today and thought I did pretty well for the first match."

Murray will now face Germany's Dustin Brown in the last 64 on Wednesday.
