Half-Time Report: Bayern Munich coasting against Hertha Berlin

Thomas Muller and Kingsley Coman earn Bayern Munich a 2-0 lead over Hertha Berlin at the halfway stage of their Bundesliga clash.

Goals from Thomas Muller and Kingsley Coman have given Bayern Munich a 2-0 half-time lead over Hertha Berlin at the Allianz Arena.

Robert Lewandowski was a constant threat to the Hertha defence early on and he was inches away from the breaking the deadlock when his low strike rattled the post.

The Polish striker came close once again a few minutes later as Jerome Boateng delivered an inch-perfect cross to his teammate, whose header was tipped wide by Rune Jarstein.

Predictably, Hertha dropped deeper as the pressure continued to arrive and they frustrated Pep Guardiola's side for much of the first half.

They were unable to keep Bayern out, though, as Muller handed the advantage to Bayern by heading home after Mehdi Benatia had flicked on Arturo Vidal's corner.

The lead was doubled four minutes before the break as Javi Martinez's clever flick reached Coman, who kept his composure convert from close range.
