Hertha Berlin head coach Pal Dardai admits that Bayern Munich deserved to beat his side at the Allianz Arena.

Pal Dardai has conceded that his Hertha Berlin side were beaten by the "better team" during their clash with Bayern Munich yesterday afternoon.

First-half goals from Thomas Muller and Kingsley Coman secured a 2-0 victory for the hosts at the Allianz Arena, which has opened up an 11-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga standings.

Speaking after the final whistle, Hertha boss Dardai told reporters: "The better team won today. We don't need to be ashamed. Our attitude and commitment were exemplary. If Bayern have the space they're twice as fast as we are.

"We conceded two unnecessary goals, we were inattentive for their goals. When we were 2-0 behind it was difficult, Bayern were dominant and in total control, they were clearly better."

While Pep Guardiola's Bayern sit top of the table, Hertha are in fifth position.
