Arsenal will not sell Granit Xhaka to Hertha Berlin during the January transfer window for under £34m, according to a report.

Arsenal have reportedly informed Hertha Berlin that they are not prepared to sell Granit Xhaka during the January transfer window for anything under £34m.

The midfielder's agent recently claimed that the 27-year-old has already agreed terms to join Hertha, but a recent report indicated that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta was not currently prepared to sanction the sale.

Arteta is believed to be keen to assess the squad that he inherited from Unai Emery before deciding whether Xhaka is required during the second half of the 2019-20 campaign.

According to Sky Sports Italia, Hertha have offered £29.9m for the Switzerland international, but the London club are demanding £34m for a player who was stripped of the Arsenal captaincy earlier this season.

Xhaka is allegedly angry with Arteta, having been privately told that he is free to leave in January despite being praised by the new manager in public.

The midfielder, who has made 16 appearances at club level during the 2019-20 campaign, has a contract at the Emirates Stadium until the summer of 2023.
