Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka is reportedly getting closer to joining German side Hertha Berlin after agreeing personal terms with the club.

The Switzerland international is said to be looking for a way out of the Emirates Stadium after he reacted angrily to being booed by the crowd during a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace in October.

According to the Daily Mail, Xhaka could join Hertha as soon as next week after agreeing personal terms, with their manager Jurgen Klinsmann keen on him joining the squad on their winter training camp in Florida.

The report adds that Xhaka's agent reiterated the player's desire to leave after Arsenal's 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on Boxing Day.

The 27-year-old midfielder was stripped of the Gunners captaincy after the incident in October but has played his way back into the side and started the first game of the Mikel Arteta era on Thursday.

Arteta was very happy with the former Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder's performance but it seems Xhaka remains set on leaving in January.
