Jakub Kiwior has been named in the starting lineup for Arsenal's Europa League last-16 first leg with Sporting Lisbon, as Mikel Arteta makes six changes in total.

The Poland international has been restricted to the bench since his arrival in January, but he is now primed for his first start alongside William Saliba in the backline.

Europa League regular Matt Turner unsurprisingly replaces Aaron Ramsdale in goal, while Ben White comes back in for Takehiro Tomiyasu at right-back.

Kieran Tierney's absence through illness means that Oleksandr Zinchenko will continue at left-back, while Jorginho and Granit Xhaka take the places of Martin Odegaard and Thomas Partey.

Fabio Vieira keeps his spot in the midfield trident, while Bukayo Saka links up with Gabriel Martinelli and last-minute Bournemouth hero Reiss Nelson in the final third.

None of Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah nor Leandro Trossard has made the squad, so Martinelli will start through the middle, while Nelson has beaten Emile Smith Rowe to the left-wing spot.

Arsenal starting lineup: Turner; White, Saliba, Kiwior, Zinchenko; Vieira, Jorginho, Xhaka; Saka, Martinelli, Nelson

Subs: Ramsdale, Holding, Gabriel, Tomiyasu, Walters, Partey, Smith, Bandeira, Smith Rowe, Sagoe Jr, Hillson
