How Vorskla Poltava could line up against Arsenal

Ahead of Thursday's Europa League clash between Arsenal and Vorskla Poltava, Sports Mole looks at how the visitors could line up.

Vorskla Poltava secured their spot in this season's Europa League having managed to finish third in the Ukrainian Premier League last season.

The position represented their joint-highest final placing, matching their achievement from the 1996-97 campaign, which brought European football to the club for the first time.

This season will represent the club's seventh European campaign, and they have previously competed in the group stages of the Europa League. That occurred during the 2011-12 season, but they picked up just two points to finish bottom of the section.

Vorskla lost heavily at Shakhtar Donetsk in the league last month, but have won three of their last four domestic fixtures, including a 1-0 win away to Karpaty at the weekend to move onto 12 points in the division.

Vasyl Sachko's side will be more than aware of their underdog status entering the clash with Arsenal on Thursday night, but will feel that they have an outside chance of finishing second in a section which also includes Sporting Lisbon and Qarabag.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Vorskla could line up at the Emirates Stadium.

Possible VOR XI vs. ARS
Out: Denys Vasin (knee), Volodymyr Odaryuk (ankle), Yuri Kolomoets (unspecified)
Doubtful: None

Unlike Arsenal, Vorskla must select their strongest team in order to stand a chance of picking up a positive result from the English capital on Thursday night.

Nicolas Careca has been borrowed from Gremio and will lead the attack, while Vladyslav Kulach, who is on loan from Shakhtar, will also feature in the final third of the field.

Careca is expected to be joined in the XI by fellow Brazilian Artur, who recently arrived at the club following a spell with Internacional.

The visitors should again line up in a 4-4-1-1 formation, with Pavlo Rebenok and Aleksandre Kobakhidze featuring in the wide positions.

The job of dealing with the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, meanwhile, will be handed to central defenders Ardin Dallku and Volodymyr Chesnakov.
