Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen wins the Premier League Signing of the Season prize in the 2024-25 Sports Mole Readers' Awards, beating an Arsenal man to the honour.

Bournemouth centre-back Dean Huijsen has comfortably won the Premier League Signing of the Season honour in the 2024-25 Sports Mole Readers' Awards.

The 20-year-old took to the English top flight like a duck to water following his £16.5m arrival from Juventus last summer, registering three goals and two assists in 32 top-flight games.

Huijsen's exceptional form captured the attention of numerous Champions League-competing clubs, and the Spaniard will soon head to Real Madrid after Los Blancos triggered his £50m release clause.

Huijsen's final act before becoming a Real Madrid player is to accept the Signing of the Season prize in the 2024-25 Sports Mole Readers' Awards, having claimed a whopping 44% of the vote.

The former Roma man was the outright winner in a six-strong category, where Arsenal's midfielder/striker hybrid Mikel Merino finished in second place with 21.7% of the nominations.

Nottingham Forest centre-back Nikola Milenkovic interestingly came in below Merino at 16.4%, while Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson, Crystal Palace's Maxence Lacroix and Ipswich Town's Liam Delap shared the rest of the vote.
