Sunday's Eredivisie predictions including Ajax vs. Sparta Rotterdam

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Eredivisie fixtures, including Ajax vs. Sparta Rotterdam.

Sittard vs. Willem II (Sunday, 11.15am)

Aiming to keep any slim hopes of escaping the Eredivisie table's bottom three alive, Willem II will travel to take on Fortuna Sittard on Sunday.

Following a 12-match winless run and seven-match losing streak, the visitors find themselves in the relegation playoff place, seven points behind 15th spot with just five games remaining.

We say: Fortuna Sittard 2-1 Willem II

Fortuna Sittard seem to be limping towards the end of the season after showing plenty of promise, while Willem II showed positive signs in their eventual defeat to Ajax, but we still back the hosts to get past a visiting side who are winless in 12 games and have shown their inability to get over the line in tight games in recent months.

Ajax vs. Sparta (Sunday, 1.30pm)

Eredivisie leaders Ajax will be looking to bounce back from last weekend's big loss when they take on Sparta Rotterdam at the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Sunday afternoon.

While the hosts have been excellent this season and are the front-runners in the race for the league title, they are now set to face one of the most in-form teams in the top flight.

We say: Ajax 2-1 Sparta Rotterdam

While Sparta have been the most improved team in the Eredivisie over the last couple of months, Ajax have been incredible on their home patch all season, and we feel the hosts will add another win to their exceptional record this weekend.

Heerenveen vs. Nijmegen (Sunday, 1.30pm)

Heerenveen will be hoping to take a step closer to European qualification when they host NEC Nijmegen at Abe Lenstra Stadion in the Eredivisie on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts are currently in eighth place in the league standings, with 37 points after 30 games, while the visitors are 12th with 33 points, but have played one game less.

We say: Heerenveen 2-1 NEC

While NEC have fared well in this contest in recent times, Heerenveen have one of the best home records in the Eredivisie, currently unbeaten in their last six games at Abe Lenstra Stadion, and we feel they will extend that record with another victory this weekend.

Almere City vs. Go Ahead Eagles (Sunday, 3.45pm)

Go Ahead Eagles make the trip to Almere City on Sunday with the opportunity to move into fifth place in the Eredivisie table.

Meanwhile, the home side are aware that only maximum points will realistically do if they wish to retain hope of avoiding relegation to the second tier.

We say: Almere City 1-3 Go Ahead Eagles

With both clubs having struggled for form of late, Almere City will have confidence that they can turn things around in front of their own supporters. However, we are backing the visitors to get out of their recent lull to secure one of their most important league wins of the season.
