AC Milan are reportedly eyeing up a move for Real Madrid defender Fran Garcia as a Theo Hernandez replacement during the summer transfer window.

AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid defender Fran Garcia this summer.

The 25-year-old could be the next Los Blancos man to join the Rossoneri, following in the footsteps of footballing icon Luka Modric.

Garcia has cemented his spot as the starting left-back for Real Madrid in recent times, featuring prominently at the Club World Cup.

The Spaniard was tormented by Desire Doue during the semi-final clash against Paris Saint-Germain, who ran out 4-0 winners.

Since returning from a successful spell at Rayo Vallecano in 2023, Garcia has featured in 85 competitive matches for Real Madrid, finding the net twice.

AC Milan want Real Madrid's Garcia?

According to journalist Rudy Galetti via Spanish outlet Fichajes, AC Milan are targeting reinforcements in defence this summer.

After an enjoyable period at the San Siro club, Theo Hernandez recently secured a lucrative switch to Middle East giants Al-Hilal.

With the France international out of their ranks, the Rossoneri are looking to secure the services of a new first-choice defender.

Milan are supposedly massive admirers of Garcia, who is said to have the right mix of experience, skill and potential for the Serie A outfit.

The 25-year-old played 31 games in La Liga across the course of the 2024-25 term, providing assists for teammates on two occasions.

Garcia's tricky situation

Despite earning regular minutes at Real Madrid last season, a summer exit from the Bernabeu could be in the best interests of Garcia.

The diminutive defender is set to face increased competition for the left-back role in 2025-26 following the arrival of Alvaro Carreras from Benfica.

There is also a certain Ferland Mendy returning from injury, meaning that Garcia could be pushed down the pecking order pretty rapidly.
