Manchester City are looking to return to the summit of the English and European game under Pep Guardiola.
The Citizens are known to be keen on the signing of defender Wesley, who did not feature at the Club World Cup for the Brazilians.
However, as per transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Man City are facing stiff competition in their hunt for the 21-year-old this summer.
The report claims that Serie A giants Roma are going to push hard for the services of Wesley ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
It is understood that the Brazilian club are holding out for a financial package of around £21m as discussions with Roma begin the ramp up.
Brentford eye Hutchinson as Mbeumo replacement?
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Brentford are reportedly interested in signing Ipswich Town attacker Omari Hutchinson.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed a productive past 24 months at Portman Road since securing a switch from Club World Cup winners Chelsea.
Hutchinson made 31 appearances in the top flight for Ipswich last term, scoring three goals and providing two assists for teammates.
The youngster has spent the majority of his summer to date in Slovakia, where England Under-21s were taking part in the European Championships.
Hutchinson found the net in the final against Germany Under-21s, with the Young Lions lifting now having lifted back-to-back continental trophies.
According to The Standard, Hutchinson could be set for a move back to the Premier League ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
It is understood that Brentford are considering a swoop for the 21-year-old should Bryan Mbeumo depart over the summer period.
Manchester United are said to be preparing a third bid for the attacker, who racked up an excellent 20-goal tally in the Premier League last term.
Celtic chasing contract extension for star?
Moving North of the border for a moment, Celtic are looking to cement their spot at the top of the Scottish game with a strong summer window.
Although incomings are important, the Bhoys are also focused on retaining the services of their key men from the 2024-25 season.
According to Football Insider, the Premiership winners are 'desperate' to tie attacker Daizen Maeda down on extended terms.
It is believed that the Bhoys would only consider a sale of the 27-year-old if a bid in excess of £25m arrived from a potential suitor.
Maeda and Celtic are reportedly in contract talks as the new term approaches after the Japan international netted 16 Premiership goals last term.
