Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly close to announcing the signing of former Manchester United player Nick Powell.

Former Manchester United striker Nick Powell has reportedly chosen to join Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Hull City had been hoping to sign the 22-year-old on a permanent deal after a loan spell at the KC Stadium but on Monday, Tigers boss Steve Bruce said that he thought the club had missed out on the former England Under-21 international.

According to The Mirror, Powell has signed a contract worth £16,000 per week, although the player has caused some confusion by unfollowing the Championship outfit on Twitter.

However, that move could be linked with the potential takeover of the club, with it previously being reported that no deal for Powell could be completed until Wolves were sold to new owners.

Late on Monday night, it was claimed that Wolves could make an official announcement regarding a takeover involving Chinese billionare Robin Li on Tuesday.
