Juan Mata: 'Luke Shaw return biggest positive for Manchester United'

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata claims that Luke Shaw's return to action after 10 months out was the most positive aspect of the 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic.

Juan Mata has hailed Manchester United teammate Luke Shaw following his return to action in Saturday's pre-season meeting with Wigan Athletic.

The England international has been out of action since last September after suffering a double fracture of his right leg in the Champions League tie against PSV Eindhoven.

However, Shaw played 45 minutes for United in the 2-0 win over Wigan at the DW Stadium to earn particular praise from manager Jose Mourinho.

Mata has also lauded the 21-year-old for his solid performance, taking to Instagram to say: "Lots of positives from our first game, but seeing @lukeshaw23 back at it, was the best! Well done my friend."

Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson all featured at left-back last season for United in Shaw's lengthy absence, but the former Southampton defender is expected to nail down the position this coming campaign.
