Head coach Bruno Lage feels that Wolverhampton Wanderers deserved to beat Brighton & Hove Albion by more than a 1-0 scoreline on Wednesday night.

Head coach Bruno Lage was full of praise for his Wolverhampton Wanderers side after they posted a 1-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday night.

Romain Saiss's neat finish from an exquisite Ruben Neves pass proved to be the difference at the Amex Stadium as Wolves ended a wait of more than seven hours for a goal.

While Lage was delighted with a first Premier League win in five games, the Portuguese acknowledged that his side could have prevailed by a wider margin on the South Coast.

Speaking to BT Sport, Lage said: "I'm happy. They did well and we played against a strong team. Brighton started well, better than us in the first 20 minutes and we lost the ball in some situations. After that the game started to be balanced, we started to have the ball and we scored our goal.

"In the second half we started better than they did, we created chances and could've scored one or two more goals. In the end we deserved it, we created the better chances and it's three good points for us."

Wolves now sit in eighth position in the top-flight standings, five points adrift of fourth-placed Arsenal.
