Result: West Ham United, Ipswich Town play out stalemate

West Ham United's pre-season friendly with Ipswich Town finishes goalless.

West Ham United began their pre-season preparations with a 0-0 draw with Championship side Ipswich Town on Wednesday evening.

Jack Marriott went close for the Tractor Boys when he skipped past James Collins before firing wide in the first half, after Matt Jarvis had earlier hit a shot off target after good hold-up work from Carlton Cole.

Cole then had an effort deflected wide before Collins saw his header bounce just over from the resulting corner.

Ricardo Vaz Te spurned the best chance of the game late on for the Hammers when he sliced wide despite being unmarked at the back post.
