West Ham United pair Vladimir Coufal and Alex Kral are absent from training ahead of Thursday night's Europa League clash at home against Genk.

West Ham United pair Vladimir Coufal and Alex Kral were both absent from training ahead of Thursday night's Europa League clash at home against Genk.

Coufal missed the 1-0 victory away against Everton on Sunday with a groin injury, and the 29-year-old could be out for the rest of this month, despite taking an injection to ease the discomfort.

As for Coufal's Czech Republic teammate Kral, the midfielder tested positive for coronavirus before last weekend's game and is currently halfway through his ten-day isolation period, so he is not yet able to return to first-team training.

Hammers fans, however, will have be pleased to see Tomas Soucek feature in training, after the midfielder suffered a stamp on his nose against Everton which forced him off midway through the second half.

Speaking to the press ahead of Thursday's game, manager David Moyes said: "Tomas is okay, He has had his lip sutured by a plastic surgeon. He was sore after the stitches [to his] lip, cheek and nose. He is fine for the game, just a decision on whether we decide to rest him or not but his injury is no reason not to play him."

In addition, club captain Mark Noble and Ryan Fredericks took part in the full session with the first team, after missing the trip to Goodison Park with respective hip and muscle problems.

West Ham, who are the current favourites with the bookmakers to win the Europa League, will be looking to maintain their 100% start in Group H with a victory at the London Stadium.
