Watford lead the race to sign Burnley forward Andre Gray in this summer's transfer window, according to a report.

Watford are reportedly leading the race to sign Burnley forward Andre Gray in this summer's transfer window.

On Tuesday afternoon, Watford confirmed the arrival of Brazilian forward Richarlison from Fluminense, and the 20-year-old has been cleared to make his Premier League debut against Liverpool this weekend.

However, according to The Mirror, Marco Silva is in the market for another striker, and Gray is the club's leading transfer target ahead of the new campaign.

The report claims that the Hornets have already seen two bids rejected by Burnley, but they are confident of agreeing a deal for the 26-year-old over the next week.

Gray has scored 33 goals in 78 appearances for Burnley following a 2015 move from Brentford, but the forward only has 12 months to run on his contract at Turf Moor, and it is understood that he wants a much-improved deal.

West Ham United and Newcastle United have both been credited with an interest this summer, but Gray recently claimed that he is "concentrating on Burnley" rather than listening to the speculation.
