How Chile could line up against Uruguay

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Chile could line up for Monday's Copa America clash with Uruguay.

Chile remain without talisman Alexis Sanchez, who recently sustained a foot injury in training.

In his absence, they will likely look to deploy an unchanged side for Monday's Copa America clash with Uruguay, given their strong start to the group stage.

The only change they made for the last game against Bolivia was bringing in Ben Brereton, who netted the only goal of the game to seal all three points for Martin Lasarte's side.

Having only declared for Chile due to his mother earlier this year, Brereton is making his first international appearances at the Copa America, and he marked his first start with a winning goal to cement his place in the side for the next few games.

He will support Eduardo Vargas in attack, after the forward netted the equaliser to earn a point in a 1-1 draw with Argentina in their first game of the group stage.

Behind Vargas, they boast an impressive midfield trio, with the experience of Arturo Vidal and Charles Aranguiz combining with the dynamism of Erick Pulgar.

At the back, the pairing of Gary Medel and Guillermo Maripan have both impressed in the first two group games with solid defensive performances, and they will line up together again on Monday.

They will be tasked with shielding goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, who has turned out 130 times for his country.

Chile possible starting lineup: Bravo; Isla, Maripan, Medel, Mena; Aranguiz, Pulgar, Vidal; Brereton, Vargas, Meneses
