Everton target Gylfi Sigurdsson returns to first-team training with Swansea City having missed the club's pre-season tour amid uncertainty over his future.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has returned to training with the Swansea City first team having missed their pre-season tour of the United States amid speculation over his future.

The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Everton this summer, but the Swans are remaining steadfast in their refusal to sell and have rejected a bid of up to £45m for the playmaker.

Sigurdsson pulled out of the team's three-match trip to America as he was not in "the right frame of mind", spending the past fortnight training with the Under-23 squad.

It was unclear whether the Iceland international would rejoin his teammates upon their return to the club's Fairwood training base, but pictures on the club's Twitter account confirmed that he is back amongst the squad.

Swansea remain unwilling to sell Sigurdsson for anything less than £50m, although Ronald Koeman has suggested that Everton may not return with an improved bid.
