Sunderland were held to a 1-1 draw in their first Championship match for more than a decade this evening as Derby County shared the spoils at the Stadium of Light.
The Rams took the lead after just 10 minutes through Bradley Johnson's close-range finish, but Lewis Grabban restored parity from the spot shortly before half time.
The Sunderland debutant almost doubled his personal tally for the evening in the second half, but the woodwork came to Derby's rescue as the two sides settled for a point apiece.
