Wilfried Bony feels sympathy for Swansea City after maiden Stoke City brace

Wilfried Bony has expressed happiness at breaking his scoring duck for Stoke City, although he feels sympathy for doing so against former club Swansea City.

Wilfried Bony has expressed happiness at breaking his scoring duck for Stoke City, although he feels sympathy for former club Swansea City, who were on the receiving end of his maiden goals.

The Ivory Coast striker, on the books at Manchester City, had failed to find the net in seven appearances for the Potters since his summer loan move to the Bet365 Stadium.

However, he broke the deadlock after just three minutes in Monday night's Premier League clash against the Swans, and added a second on 73 minutes to help Stoke to a 3-1 win.

Bony told BBC Sport: "I am happy that we won, that's three games in a row and it's a great result.

"It is crazy that my first goals come against my ex-team, it is disappointing for them but that is how football happens.

"I have missed some chances but I knew the goals would come. Every game I push myself."

The result puts Stoke 12th in the Premier League table.
