Tottenham Hotspur right-back Pedro Porro claims that he and his teammates would be "happy" to see Harry Kane join Real Madrid this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur full-back Pedro Porro has claimed that he and his Lilywhites teammates would be "happy" to see Harry Kane join Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

The England captain will soon enter the final 12 months of his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and is seemingly no closer to penning an extension.

Kane will celebrate his 30th birthday this summer without having won a major trophy at club level, despite scoring an all-time high 280 goals in 435 games for the club.

The 29-year-old broke and equalled several goalscoring records in the 2022-23 season, netting 30 top-flight goals, but Spurs could only muster an eighth-placed finish and subsequently missed out on a place in Europe for the first time since 2009.

Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have all been credited with an interest in Kane, but Real Madrid are also in the race as Karim Benzema prepares to end his glittering spell at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Despite Kane's discernible importance to Tottenham, Porro has stated that those in North London would be pleased to see the striker make the move to such an esteemed club.

"If Kane decides to go to Real Madrid we'll be as happy as he is or more," the 23-year-old said at the opening of a training camp named in his honour, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

During a brilliant 2022-23 season at an individual level, Kane overtook Wayne Rooney into second place in the all-time Premier League scoring charts, now sitting on 213 goals in the division.

The 29-year-old still has some way to go to draw level with Alan Shearer's 260, but he has already revealed that he dreams of breaking his compatriot's record, having also become England's leading goalscorer of all time earlier this year.

As a result, Kane is only thought to have eyes on a move to Man United if he calls time on his Tottenham career, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is hesitant to let him join a direct Premier League rival.

Levy is still holding out hope that a new deal for Kane can be agreed, but should both parties ultimately go their separate ways, the Tottenham chief would apparently prefer to sell to a foreign club.

Kane memorably tried to force an exit from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer of 2021, with Manchester City keen to bring him to the Etihad as a replacement for Sergio Aguero.

However, Levy refused to budge on his reported £150m asking price, and Kane remained with his boyhood club, who he has represented since the age of 11 after a brief stint in Arsenal's academy.

Tottenham confirmed Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach on a four-year deal on Tuesday, and sorting out Kane's future will be one of the 57-year-old's first priorities in North London.
