Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has insisted that he is "working hard to get fit" after suffering ankle ligament damage.

The club have refused to put a timeline on the England international's recovery, but there are reports that he could be sidelined for up to two months.

Kane was stretchered off the pitch after scoring the only goal in a victory over Sunderland at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Today on Twitter, Kane wrote: "Injuries are never nice but part of the game - working hard to get fit as soon as possible! Will be cheering on the lads while I recover."

The 23-year-old has scored twice so far this season.
