Republic of Ireland boss Martin O'Neill confirms that Jonathan Walters will not play in tomorrow's Euro 2016 clash against Belgium because of an Achilles injury.

Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill has confirmed that Jonathan Walters will play no part in tomorrow's Group E match against Belgium at Euro 2016.

The 32-year-old's Achilles injury flared up, resulting in his 64th-minute substitution in Monday's 1-1 draw with Sweden in Paris.

The Stoke City forward has now officially been ruled out of the next match, but O'Neill told reporters this afternoon that the player is hopeful of being fit for the final group game against Italy.

James McClean is expected to start in Walters's place for tomorrow's clash in Bordeaux.
