Real Madrid reportedly have a contract extension ready for Toni Kroos if the midfielder opts to continue his career at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid are reportedly willing to offer a new contract to midfielder Toni Kroos.

The 32-year-old has been with Los Blancos since 2014, enjoying a legendary stint at the Santiago Bernabeu which has seen him make 382 appearances in all competitions and win 17 pieces of silverware.

Kroos has also remained as an important part of Carlo Ancelotti's team during 2022-23, making 14 starts and two substitute appearances in all competitions.

However, with less than a year remaining on his contract, speculation persists regarding the next stage of Kroos's career.

Speaking to reporters earlier this week, the German stated that he would retire at the Spanish giants, yet indicated that penning fresh terms was not a foregone conclusion.

Kroos said: "I'm very well, I feel good physically. I'm very relaxed about my [contract] renewal. I don't even know myself what will happen. We'll decide before March, so that you don't all get too nervous.

"I'm going to retire here, what I don't know is when. There's nothing new to tell."

Kroos's comments come at a time when there has been constant talk about Real looking to continue to make changes to their midfield, with 37-year-old Luka Modric still occupying a regular spot in the centre of the pitch.

Nevertheless, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, club officials at Real have already prepared a contract proposal for Kroos.

Romano suggests that the former Bayern Munich man will contemplate whether he should spend one more season with the current La Liga and European champions.

Furthermore, Romano backs up Kroos's comments, stating that there are unlikely to be any developments until the early months of 2023.

Last month, head coach Ancelotti predicted that Kroos would remain at Real, claiming that his player had overcome his struggles for consistency during the previous campaign.

Kroos, who is due to turn 33 years of age in January, is not in contention to represent Germany at the upcoming World Cup after retiring from international football last year.
