Wales midfielder Andy King believes that Gareth Bale will be the best player at Euro 2016, and that his presence makes his side contenders to win the tournament.

Wales midfielder Andy King has claimed that Gareth Bale will be the best player at Euro 2016, ahead of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba.

Wales have reached their first major tournament for 58 years, with Bale playing a starring role with seven of the team's 11 goals as they finished second in qualifying Group B.

King, who is fresh off the back of helping Leicester City upset all the odds to win the Premier League title, believes that the Real Madrid man's presence makes his side genuine contenders to go all the way in France.

"We want to get through the group. We're confident but you've got to have some luck," he told BBC Wales Sport.

"We've got the best player in the tournament so why can't we win it? They said [Leicester] couldn't win the league at the start of the season so that's given us a bit of belief.

"If you want to name me another that might be better than [Bale] then go for it. The way he can win a game on his own is something that not many players have the capability of doing."

Bale will join up with the Wales squad after playing for Real Madrid in the Champions League final against local rivals Atletico Madrid on Saturday.
