Sports Mole looks at how Portugal could line up in Monday's World Cup contest with Uruguay.

Portugal will be without the services of Danilo for Monday's clash with Uruguay, as the 31-year-old damaged his ribs during a training session.

Veteran centre-back Pepe has been nursing a sprained knee over the last six weeks, but the 39-year-old will come into the back four for this contest.

Fernando Santos's side recorded a 3-2 victory over Ghana in their tournament opener on Thursday, and another win in this game would see them qualify for the round of 16 from Group H.

Cristiano Ronaldo became the first men's player to score in five World Cups when he found the back of the net from the penalty spot against Ghana last time out.

The 37-year-old, who was recently released by Manchester United, will again lead the line for Portugal, and he is expected to be joined by Joao Felix and Bruno Fernandes in an advanced area.

Rafael Leao came off the bench to score against Ghana, but the AC Milan attacker is again expected to be among the substitutes for the first whistle.

There could be an alteration in the middle of midfield, with William Carvalho pushing to replace Otavio, who is a doubt for the match alongside Nuno Mendes.

Diogo Dalot, Goncalo Ramos and Joao Mario will also be in Santos's thinking in terms of the first XI, but the head coach is unlikely to shuffle his pack for this game, especially as a victory would see Portugal qualify, which would allow them to rest key players in their final group game against South Korea.

Portugal possible starting lineup: Costa; Cancelo, Dias, Pepe, Guerreiro; Bernardo, Neves, Carvalho; Fernandes, Ronaldo, Felix
