Spain manager Julen Lopetegui does not include Cesc Fabregas and Juan Mata in his squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Italy and Albania in October.

Premier League duo Cesc Fabregas and Juan Mata have not been included in the Spain squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Chelsea midfielder Fabregas has started just one Premier League game this season, the Blues' 3-0 defeat to Arsenal last Saturday in which he was substituted after 55 minutes.

Manchester United man Mata, meanwhile, has not kept his place in La Roja's setup despite scoring in his club side's 4-1 win over league champions Leicester City at the weekend.

The four England-based players who make the cut for the 2010 World Cup champions are Man Utd goalkeeper David de Gea, Chelsea striker Diego Costa and Manchester City duo David Silva and Nolito.

Julen Lopetegui's charges face a difficult trip to Italy on October 6 before a home tie against Albania three days later.

Spain's forward Diego Costa (L) vies with England's defender Phil Jones during the friendly football match Spain vs England at the Jose Rico Perez stadium in Alicante on November 13, 2015.
