Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera receives his first call-up to the Spain squad.

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has earned his first call-up to the senior Spain squad.

The 27-year-old has impressed in the early stages of the season under manager Jose Mourinho, and appears to have caught the eye of Spain boss Julen Lopetegui.

Herrera has come into the setup to provide cover for Saul Niguez and Thiago Alcantara, both of whom are struggling with knocks.

The three-time European Championship winners are preparing for World Cup qualifiers against Italy and Albania.
