Wolverhampton Wanderers technical director Scott Sellars acknowledges that Ruben Neves could depart Molineux during the summer transfer window.

Technical director Scott Sellars says that he is "realistic" about Wolverhampton Wanderers retaining the services of midfielder Ruben Neves.

Amid speculation regarding a potential switch to Barcelona, Neves acknowledged on the final weekend of the campaign that he could take on a new challenge away from Molineux.

Much will depend on whether the Catalan giants or the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal are prepared to meet Wolves' valuation, likely to be at least £50m.

Nevertheless, Sellars says that Wolves will continue to assess the situation, aware that the time may come when they have to cash in on the Portugal international.

Speaking to the club's official YouTube channel, Sellars said: "Ruben is a top player. Ruben has been fantastic this season and once again shown his quality. Also, I think he has shown how happy he is here and that is something we as a club know as well.

"The ideal situation is that we want him to stay. I've spoken to him about it, but I am also realistic that when you have an outstanding player, the top clubs are going to come and see what the situation is.

"It will be discussed what is right for the club and certainly is something we will look at."

Neves currently has two years remaining on his contract at Wolves.
