Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Brentford over a deal for Bryan Mbeumo.
The Cameroon international's future has been the subject of widespread speculation in recent months due to his excellent form for the Bees during the 2024-25 campaign.
Mbeumo netted 20 goals and registered eight assists in 38 Premier League appearances last term, and he is believed to have been on the radars of Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
However, it is understood that the 25-year-old made it clear from an early stage that he was only interested in making the move to Man United.
The Red Devils failed with their opening two offers for Mbeumo, the first of which is believed to have been £55m, with the second bid then coming in at £62m, including add-ons.
However, Brentford made it clear that they wanted £65m up front for the attacker, with the total package around £70m, and a third offer from Man United was submitted on Thursday.
Man United 'reach agreement' over £71m Mbeumo transfer
According to journalist David Ornstein, a full agreement has now been reached between the two clubs, with Man United set to pay an initial £65m, with a further £6m in add-ons.
Ornstein claims that a transfer is now being finalised, and an announcement could be imminent, as Man United have already agreed personal terms with the attacker on a long-term contract.
Mbeumo's deal is expected to run until June 2030, with the option of an additional 12 months.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed the deal on X, with Mbeumo set to become the club's second major signing of the summer after Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It is understood that the £6m in add-ons will be paid in four different instalments.
When will Mbeumo make his debut for Man United?
The deal will not be completed in time for Mbeumo to make his Man United debut in the team's opening match of pre-season against Leeds United in Sweden on Saturday afternoon.
However, the attacker is set to travel with his new teammates to the United States at the start of next week for the Premier League Summer Series, which will see the Red Devils face West Ham United, Bournemouth and Everton.
Providing that there are not any unforeseen issues, then Mbeumo could make his debut for Man United in their friendly with West Ham on July 26, with that contest taking place in New Jersey.
Mbeumo's competitive debut for the 20-time English champions could then come on the opening weekend of the 2025-26 Premier League campaign against Mikel Arteta's Arsenal.
