Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola could bring Victor Valdes, who played under him at Barcelona, to the Etihad on a free transfer, according to reports.

Manchester City have expressed an interest in bringing Victor Valdes to the Etihad Stadium, according to reports.

The former Manchester United goalkeeper played under new Citizens manager Pep Guardiola at Barcelona, where they helped the Blaugrana to multiple trophies.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Guardiola is keen to snap up his former Barca stopper and provide competition for Joe Hart.

Valdes is currently without a club after Man Utd released the 34-year-old, having spent the last six months on loan at Standard Liege where he played just six games due to injury.
