Manchester United are allegedly in discussions with Italian clubs over the possibility of selling both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee this summer.

Manchester United are reportedly in discussions with Italian clubs over the possibility of selling both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee during this summer's transfer window.

Hojlund has only managed 10 goals in 49 appearances for the Red Devils during the 2024-25 campaign, while Zirkzee has seven in 48 outings, with both players struggling to make their mark during the current season.

Zirkzee has been on the sidelines since the middle of April due to a hamstring injury, which has placed major pressure on Hojlund, with the Denmark international the only senior centre-forward available for selection.

Hojlund will start next week's Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur, but there is believed to be a real possibility that he could be on the move during this summer's transfer market.

According to The Independent, the Red Devils have been in discussions with Italian clubs over deals for Hojlund and Zirkzee, and it is possible that both will be on the move ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Man United 'could sell Zirkzee, Hojlund this summer'

Man United are planning to boost their attacking unit this summer, with three players potentially arriving, but there will have to be sales due to the club's delicate financial situation.

Antony, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford are expected to leave on permanent deals at the end of the season, while there has also been speculation surrounding the future of Alejandro Garnacho.

Man United have only scored 42 times in their 36 league matches this season, and head coach Ruben Amorim has identified his attack as a key area in need of improvement during the summer market.

Which forwards could arrive at Man United this summer?

Ipswich Town's Liam Delap is believed to be Man United's leading target at centre-forward, with the Englishman available for £30m this summer due to a relegation release clause.

A deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers' Matheus Cunha is also allegedly advancing, while Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo, Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo and Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze continue to be linked with moves to the club.

Man United would need another striker alongside Delap if both Hojlund and Zirkzee leave this summer, though, and Napoli's Victor Osimhen is believed to be a possible option depending on outgoings.

Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres also continues to be linked with a move to Old Trafford, but it appears that Arsenal are in pole position for the Sweden international heading towards the opening of the summer market.

Man United are back in a Premier League action away to Chelsea on Friday evening before taking on Tottenham in the Europa League final in the middle of next week.
