Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick brushes off suggestions that a number of first-team players are unhappy with his training sessions.

Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has brushed off suggestions that a number of first-team players are currently unhappy with the training sessions at the club.

A recent report claimed that members of the squad believe that Rangnick's methods are 'old-fashioned', while the role of assistant Chris Armas has also allegedly been questioned.

However, when asked about the claims during Friday's pre-match press conference, the German insisted that he had not heard anything about the reported discontent.

"Nothing, to be honest. I haven't read any newspapers and don't know about those articles. What I can assure you, the way that the team has developed in the last couple of weeks is obvious, tactically, and this is due to the work that we're doing in training, both on the pitch but also if we do the video analysis with them," Rangnick told reporters.

"The training that we're doing including all the important training games and the little games as well as the 11v11 games, a lot of rondos, a lot of those little games to increase fluidity and get better in possession of the ball. It's part of the training session."

Man United dropped out of the top four this week following their 1-1 draw against Burnley, and the Red Devils will be bidding to return to winning ways when they host Southampton on Saturday afternoon.
