Manchester United legend Paul Scholes believes that Paul Pogba's best position in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side is on the left of a front three.

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has said that he believes Paul Pogba's best position is on the left side of a front three.

Pogba has played in various positions for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but has impressed Scholes when he has played higher and wider for the Red Devils.

The World Cup winner rejoined Man United from Juventus in an £89.3m deal five years ago, but has seen his future at Old Trafford regularly come under the spotlight since his return.

Speaking to BT Sport, Scholes said: "You can't doubt the lad's ability. I think that Milan game when he came on in that left-hand position of the front three, I think that's probably his best position.

"It just gives him that freedom for him to do what he wants, express himself, and when he was brilliant at Juventus - that was where he played. When he's in the two in midfield, he gives you great quality, of course he does.

"He wasn't great against Brighton, but if his concentration is on it, he can produce moments that will win games of football and that's why he cost so much money.

"But the problem is: he doesn't do it often enough, he might do it two out of five games. If you want to win leagues, big trophies, that's not enough and a player of his ability should be doing more."

Since his big-money return, the 28-year-old has 37 goals and as many assists in 189 appearances for Man United.
