Manchester United could reportedly consider Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's replacement at Old Trafford.

Manchester United could reportedly consider Massimiliano Allegri as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's replacement if the Italian continues to struggle in his second spell at Juventus.

Allegri returned to the Old Lady ahead of the 2021-22 campaign, but it has been a tough start to the season for the Turin giants, who are currently down in seventh position in Serie A.

Wednesday's 2-1 home defeat to Sassuolo has left Juve 13 points behind division leaders Napoli, and there has already been speculation surrounding the manager's future.

Solskjaer, meanwhile, will lead Man United into Saturday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur, but the Norwegian's position at Old Trafford is far from secure.

Antonio Conte has been strongly linked with the role, but a recent report claimed that the 20-time English champions had cooled their interest in the Italian.

According to The Mirror, Man United could move for Allegri if the 54-year-old is sacked in the near future, with the English giants having a long-standing interest in the experienced head coach.

Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has also been linked with the role at Old Trafford, but the Frenchman is allegedly not looking to return to management at this moment in time.
