Manchester United suffered a 1-0 defeat to ASEAN All-Stars in a post-season friendly on Wednesday.
The Maybank Challenge Cup was up for grabs, and more than 72,000 fans turned out for the contest at the Bukit Jalil Stadium in Malaysia, but Man United were unable to give those supporting them something to cheer.
Andre Onana, Harry Maguire, Ayden Heaven, Diogo Dalot, Manuel Ugarte, Casemiro, Patrick Dorgu, Kobbie Mainoo and Rasmus Hojlund were all named in the starting side, while there were also spots in the XI for youngsters Reece Munro and Jack Moorhouse.
Five changes occurred just past the 30-minute mark, with Jaydan Kamason, Sekou Kone, Shea Lacey and Daniel Armer introduced in place of Dalot, Casemiro, Moorhouse and Maguire.
There were 11 changes at the break, including Alejandro Garnacho, with the Argentina international introduced alongside the likes of Jonny Evans, Chido Obi, Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo.
ASEAN All-Stars made the breakthrough in the 71st minute of the contest through Maung Maung Lwin, with the 29-year-old finishing past Red Devils goalkeeper Tom Heaton after being found by Adrian Segecic.
Man United were unable to find a leveller in the time that remained, with the 20-time English champions therefore suffering more disappointment at the conclusion of a disastrous 2024-25 campaign.
The Red Devils finished down in 15th spot in last season's Premier League table, while they were beaten 1-0 by Tottenham Hotspur in the final of the Europa League, meaning that no European football will be played at Old Trafford next term.
Man United will now take on Hong Kong, China in Hong Kong on Friday in the final match of their post-season Tour, with the Red Devils then not having another match until a friendly with Leeds United on July 19.
