A report claims that Newcastle United join Stoke City in pursuit of Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph.

Newcastle United have reportedly joined Stoke City in pursuit of Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph.

Delph, 27, is widely expected to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer after starting just two Premier League matches for the Citizens during the 2016-17 campaign.

It has been claimed that Stoke have launched a £12m move for the England international, but according to the Daily Mail, Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez is also interested in the midfielder ahead of the new season.

Delph joined Man City from Aston Villa in the summer of 2015, and the midfielder has scored four times in 39 appearances since arriving in Manchester.

The former Leeds United youngster has also been capped nine times by England, although the last of his appearances came in 2015.
