Bayern Munich defender David Alaba could turn down Manchester City to join either Real Madrid or Barcelona this summer, according to a report.

Bayern Munich defender David Alaba could reportedly reject a move to Manchester City this summer in favour of joining either Real Madrid or Barcelona.

The 27-year-old, who will see his contract at the Allianz Arena expire next summer, is believed to be a target for the Premier League champions ahead of this summer's transfer window.

Madrid and Barca have also been credited with an interest, meanwhile, amid suggestions that the Austria international could seek pastures new ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

According to Bild, the defender is determined to secure a move to La Liga this summer, seemingly ending City's chances of luring him to the Premier League.

Alaba has made 372 appearances for Bayern since debuting for the Bundesliga champions in 2010, including 28 outings in all competitions this season.

City only have the fifth-best defensive record in the Premier League this season, conceding more goals than Liverpool, Sheffield United, Leicester City and Manchester United during the 2019-20 campaign.
