Joe Hart may have fallen out of favour at Manchester City now, but he was a key building block for the team's success following the Abu Dhabi investment.

While Manchester United had Peter Schmeichel and later Edwin van Der Sar, Arsenal had David Seaman and Jens Lehmann, and Chelsea had Petr Cech - the foundation of City's title successes began with Hart between the sticks.

Having joined in 2006, it wasn't until 2010 that Hart became undisputed number one at the club and he didn't miss a single Premier League game for the next three seasons - including the title-winning campaign of 2011-12.

Hart went on to lift the Premier League trophy again in 2014, while he has also won the FA Cup and two League Cups during his time at the Etihad Stadium - not to mention four Golden Glove awards and a place in the PFA Team of the Year on two occasions.

The England number one's City career has not officially come to an end yet, but it looks unlikely that he will add to his 348 appearances - 266 of which have come in the Premier League - as long as Pep Guardiola remains in charge.
