Rarely in Premier League history has a transfer caused as much of a stir as Carlos Tevez joining Manchester City from Manchester United in 2009, becoming the first player to switch between the local rivals this century.

The infamous 'Welcome to Manchester' billboard featuring Tevez was a further statement that City were not afraid to rile their neighbours, and his performances on the pitch helped the blue half of the city to overhaul their traditionally dominant rivals.

Tevez scored 29 goals across all competitions during his debut campaign and a further 23 the following season as City won the FA Cup to end a 35-year wait for major silverware.

It took Tevez just 73 games to reach 50 goals for the club, but it looked as though his City career was over following a bust-up with Roberto Mancini in 2011.

However, the Argentine returned later that season and played a crucial role in helping the club to their first league title in 44 years before eventually leaving in 2013 having scored 73 goals in 148 games - 58 of which came in 113 league outings.
