Manchester City were well on their way to becoming a force in English football when Aleksandar Kolarov joined in 2010, but silverware was still lacking since the Abu Dhabi investment.

The arrival of Kolarov helped to change that, though, and at the end of his first season at the club they had clinched their first major trophy in 35 years with victory in the FA Cup.

First-team opportunities were tougher to come by the following season, but he still played his part in City's dramatic title success as they ended a 44-year wait to win the league.

Kolarov added another Premier League title - alongside the League Cup - in 2013-14, while success in the 2016 League Cup final earned the Serbia international a fifth major trophy at the club.

Pep Guardiola's full-back clearout this summer ultimately spelled the end of his Man City career as he joined Roma having scored 21 goals in 243 appearances for the Citizens, including 11 in 165 Premier League games.
