Manchester City striker Erling Braut Haaland scores within 20 minutes of his Champions League debut for the club, continuing his prolific start to the season.

Erling Braut Haaland has marked his Champions League debut for Manchester City with a goal within 20 minutes of the start of their Group G opener against Sevilla this evening.

The Norway international has made a prolific start to life as a Man City player, scoring a record-equalling 10 goals in his opening six Premier League games, including two hat-tricks.

Haaland had already shown his devastating goalscoring abilities on the Champions League stage too, and went into tonight's match with the best goals-per-game ratio of any player in the competition's history to have played at least 10 games.

That ratio was soon improved too, with the summer signing netting a trademark close-range finish from Kevin De Bruyne's cross after only 20 minutes at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

Seven of Haaland's 11 goals for Man City have now come from inside the six-yard box, while his overall Champions League tally now stands at 24 goals in just 20 appearances, including five against Sevilla.

Tonight's goal also continues Haaland's record of scoring on his debut for clubs in the competition, having also done so for Red Bull Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund.
