Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Southampton.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is set to revert to his strongest XI for Saturday's Premier League clash with Southampton at Anfield.

The Reds remain without Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Naby Keita and Arthur until after the World Cup, but Joel Matip is closing in on a return from a calf injury and completed most of Friday's training session.

In another fitness boost, James Milner should be fine to return from concussion protocol to bring up his 600th Premier League appearance.

Klopp unsurprisingly started Caoimhin Kelleher in goal for Wednesday's EFL Cup win over Derby County, and the penalty-shootout hero made three saves from 12 yards, but Alisson Becker will certainly return here.

Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate will displace Joe Gomez and Nat Phillips at the back, while Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold come back in for Kostas Tsimikas and Calvin Ramsay, the latter of whom made his first start for the club in midweek.

Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara are set to return to the engine room - leaving Jordan Henderson on the bench once again - while Harvey Elliott, Roberto Firmino and Darwin Nunez also earn starts.

On the right, Mohamed Salah sits on 99 goal contributions (70 strikes, 29 assists) from 99 Premier League home games for Liverpool and will aim to become just the second player in the tournament's history to bring up 100 from 100 after Thierry Henry.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Salah, Fabinho, Thiago, Elliott; Nunez, Firmino
