Liverpool are reportedly in talks with a number of companies over a new shirt sponsorship deal ahead of the expiry of their contract with Standard Chartered in 2023.

Liverpool are reportedly in discussions with a number of companies over a potential new shirt sponsorship deal.

The Reds have partnered with British global financial services company Standard Chartered since 2010, initially signing a £20m-per-year contract after ending their association with Carlsberg.

However, Liverpool's deal with Standard Chartered is due to expire at the end of the 2022-23 season, and according to The Athletic, the company are yet to agree to an extension with the Reds.

The report adds that Liverpool are therefore considering other shirt sponsors when their Standard Chartered contract runs out in under 18 months time, with 'preliminary talks' already taking place with outside companies.

The Reds would supposedly be after at least £40m per season to agree to a new shirt sponsorship deal, but the club are still understood to be in talks with Standard Chartered over their future together.

Jurgen Klopp's side and Standard Chartered agreed to a four-year extension until 2023 back in 2019, but the agreement was announced a year in advance.
