Leeds United have reportedly signed Matthew Pennington from Everton on a season-long loan.

The Championship outfit have been eyeing players to bolster Thomas Christiansen's options in defence for the upcoming season.

According to Sky Sports News, Pennington has passed a medical and will meet up with his new teammates at their pre-season camp in Austria.

The defender has been part of the Everton fold since joining the youth academy in 2005, but since graduating in 2013, he has had loan spells at Tranmere Rovers, Coventry City and Walsall.

Pennington will become Leeds's ninth signing of the summer.
